Supervisor of Elections
As an elected official, the Supervisor of Elections administers all elections in Broward County , conducts voter registration and issues voter identification cards, updates voter registration lists, and provides for absentee registration and absentee voting. The Supervisor of Elections is also responsible for qualifying candidates for county office and receiving candidate campaign finance reports and financial disclosure reports. Other duties and responsibilities include maintaining election equipment, hiring and training poll workers, renting and equipping polling places, and providing information and statistics on voter registration, voting, and elections.

in 2000 to educate candidates for public office and the public about
the Broward County Ethical Campaign Practices ordinance and its pledge
and to provide a forum for complaints related to political campaigning.
The Committee will consider any complaint which alleges that a political
candidate, organization or issue campaign has violated the Broward County

How Judges Are Disciplined for Misconduct

The Judicial Qualifications Commission is an independent agency created
by the Florida Constitution solely to investigate alleged misconduct
by Florida state judges. It is not a part of the Florida Supreme Court
or the state courts and operates under rules it establishes for itself.
The JQC has no authority over federal judges or judges in other states.
Complaints against state judges must be filed in writing with the JQC,
not with the Supreme Court or any other state court or judge. Neither
the Supreme Court nor its Chief Justice have any authority to investigate
alleged misconduct by state judges or to investigate the JQC. The JQC

County Commissioners
The County Commission meets in formal session the first four Tuesdays of each month at 10:00 a.m. in Room 422 of the Broward County Governmental Center. Over 507,000 cable subscribers in Broward County have access to television coverage of Commission meetings, which are broadcast live beginning at 10:00 a.m. each Tuesday, and rebroadcast at 5:00 p.m. the following Sunday. The Board of County Commissioners is the legislative
branch of Broward County Government. The County Commission is composed
of nine members elected by district. Each Commissioner must be a resident
of the district for which he or she seeks election. Each year the Commission
elects a Mayor and Vice Mayor. The Mayor's functions include serving
as presiding officer, and as the County's official representative. The
Commission appoints the County Administrator, County Attorney and County
Auditor. The Commission also appoints numerous advisory and regulatory
